Here are some scenes from Safari Mall that were either deleted, replaced or unfinished.
Big Red at Night (Episode 4 first draft)
The plot for the 1st draft of episode 4 involved Big Red at night trying to sleep. He is awaken by Junko the Grouch digging through some trash and Kermit singing "Being Green" at the swamp. He falls asleep after Warren sings him a lullaby. The footage was deleted but a remake of the episode is in consideration. Kermit singing Being Green was uploaded to YouTube as an individual clip.
Cookies at night mystery
The first draft for episode 4 also featured a sketch where Cookie Monster wakes up to get his night cookie snack but can't find his cookies. He gets help from Sherlock Hemlock and finds out that his cookies were just in the pocket of his robe the entire time. He thanks Sherlock by giving him a cookie, he eats his in his signature eating style and Sherlock eats a cookie in Cookie Monster's style. This entire sketch was shot and was to be featured in the first draft for episode 4 but was deleted along with the rest of the episode. A remake of this is in consideration.
Twister and the Snowman
This was a sketch written for episode 4. Twister encounters a talking snowman who complains about the heat in the room so Twister tries to find a cold place for him. The sketch ends with Twister putting the snowman in the freezer. The sketch was never filmed. It was replaced with Garbo Gorilla singing "Somebody Come and Play".
The Legend of King Ernest (Episode 5 first draft)
The first draft for episode 5 involved Big Bird and Christopher (with the help of Mrs Bookworm) learns about the Egyptian king, King Ernest (who bears a striking resemblance to Ernie). The story tells them that he was an Egyptian king who wanted to find the perfect toy and eventually did (a rubber duckie) and he rode his boat towards where Safari Mall is now and buried a golden duckie. Big Bird, Christopher and Mrs Bookworm go on a quest to find this golden duck. A little bit of footage was shot but deleted shortly after. This would be the only appearance of the American yellow bird in Safari Mall which was one of the reasons why the episode was canceled, Big Red didn't have a good enough introduction so we didn't want viewers to believe our resident giant bird was the same as the one on Sesame Street.
Kermit's empty and full lecture
Kermit demonstrates empty and full with 2 trays, one of the trays is full of brownies, Pie Monster helps him demonstrate empty by devouring all the brownies. This was going to be used in Episode 15 but was cut due to technical issues.
Safari Mall Holiday Spectacular
In the first promotional photo for this special it was announced that the special would have 2 stories. "Elmo's Tickle Trouble" and "Twas the Night Before Christmas (by Purple Crayon)" the two stories were not featured in the special. "Elmo's Tickle Trouble" wasn't even filmed and "Twas the Night Before Christmas (by Purple Crayon)" would be told by the new character Adam instead.
Kermit's In and Out lecture
Kermit demonstrates in and out by going in and out of a window. He tries demonstrating this again by putting a cake in a box which attracts Pie Monster who then consumes the cake. this sketch was filmed episode 20 but didn't make it due to technical issues.
The A Song (by Rowlf the Dog)
This was a sketch done by puppeteer Dillon Stewart. It featured an intro by Purple Crayon. It wasn't very educational and likely didn't teach kids so it was replaced by Big Red singing "The Sound of A" in later airings.
Junko's TV Guide (Episode 1)
The first episode of this show originally had a cold open where Junko reads a TV Guide that introduces the highlights of the episode. It was filmed but was replaced when it aired. The footage still exists today and will likely be featured in the upcoming special "A Crumpit History".
